Michigan State’s top-rated class of 2010 recruit continues to rise up the charts. Detroit Southeastern defensive end William Gholston has cracked the top 25 in ESPN Scouts Inc.’s ranking of the nation’s top prospects updated today.
In the last ranking, the 6-foot-7, 250-pound Gholston was the No. 33 overall prospect. But the ranking is updated periodically and Scouts Inc. since had a chance to see Gholston up close.
Here is an excerpt on Gholston’s move from ESPN Scouts Inc.’s J.C. Shurburtt:
“There was never any question that jumbo athlete William Gholston (Detroit, Mich./Southeastern) has a world of upside and one of the highest ceilings in the 2010 class. This season, he's been putting it all together and was impressive when scouted during his in-person evaluation earlier this year. Gholston moved up eight spots to No. 25 in the latest update.”
He is the third-ranked defensive end nationally and currently the top recruit among Big Ten schools.
